Supervision occurs when one or a group of nutrition therapists contract with an experienced professional to help them advance their counseling skills. It includes such things as discussion of cases, exploration of the therapists’ own issues that come up in client sessions, practice of new skills, advice on what to try next with a particular client, support for limit-setting, handling burn-out, etc. The emphasis is on the process of counseling rather than on the content. It is assumed that participants have other sources of information on disease states, diet recommendations, etc.
Phone supervision means you can access this service from your home or office.
